Will my son have access to a phone at camp?
There is no public phone in the dormitory. Campers have the option of bringing their own phone and using the jack in their room to make calling card or collect calls only. Pay phones are available.
 
Are the meals varied enough to accomdate vegitarians?
Yes. The dining hall serves sandwiches, salads, pastas, vegetables, fruits, cereals, eggs, and many types of entrée and ala carte items. It is an all you can eat facility.
 
Will my son have access to ice/water at Camp?
Yes. There are ice machines and water fountains in the dorm and practice facility. A representative from Gatorade will be available at all times in the wrestling facility providing Gatorade.
 
Will my son’s roommate request be honored?
Yes, roommate requests will be taken care of at registration when you arrive. Roommates should come to registration together.
 
Will there be a Camp Store?

Yes. Headgear, UNC T-shirts, shorts, kneepads, sweatshirts, and other wrestling gear will be available for purchase. Pizza will be sold in the evenings.

 
Are there laundry services available?

Cards are available for purchase at the camp store which allow access to laundry machines.

 
How much money should my son bring?
Depends on if he is planning on to buy wrestling gear. T-shirts, shorts, etc. are popular items ranginig from $10-$30. Send enough for late night snacks and pizza.
 
Can my son drive to camp?
Yes, however, you MUST make arrangements ahead of time so that we can secure a parking permit and he is not permitted to use the vehicle while at camp.
 
Are the rooms air conditioned?
Yes, all rooms are air conditioned as well as the practice facility.
 
What are the directions to campus and specifically to the dorm for registration?
Go to the "forms" heading and click on "driving directions/maps".
 
Will campers have access to a pool?
We will arrange for campers to have access to the pool on the free evening.
 
My son has special needs; will someone take responsibility to see that he gets his meds, etc.?
Yes, but we need to know about this by registration. An athletic trainer will discuss this with you after you notify us.
 
Who do I call in case of emergency?
919-475-3272 is an active number, always available.
 
Can family and friends come watch a session or the tournament?
Yes, you are welcome to come watch.
 
What should commuters do about coming and going?
Commuters should arrive to the facility by 8:45am and be picked up each night by 8:45pm. Please do not be late! Commuters receive lunch and dinner with other campers. All commuters MUST come to registration at the dorm and be weighed in.
 
How are weigh-ins conducted?
At registration, upon arrival we will weigh everyone in fully dressed. We do not encourage weight cutting for summer camp. Your actual weight will be used to determine your position on your team and/or establish brackets for the tournament.
 
Can I still come to team camp if I am alone?
Yes, we will consider you a "free agent" and get you on a team that needs someone at your approximate weight.
